The induction for the CHS chapter of NHS scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to school closure. A make-up date will be announced in due course.
Current members of the NHS are reminded that induction is this Thursday and that attendance is compulsory. Be sure those of you with assignments–programs, refreshments, etc.–have your plans in place and are ready to go.
New inductees will have a shorter time to RSVP their invitations on account of last week’s snow. If you submitted a completed activity information pack, you may safely assume the faculty council has extended an invitation to induction. [The council issued several probationary invitations, but that will have no bearing on induction itself.] Please let Mrs. Tillapaugh or Mr. Lewis know whether you accept the invitation–and how many guests you will bring–as soon as you can.
The first school Monday of February is coming up. Meet in Mrs. Tillapaugh’s classroom after school.
NHS induction will be on 26 February. Attendance is compulsory for all members, new and seasoned.
There will be a brief NHS meeting after school on 12 January at 3:00 PM in E-250, Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room. On the agenda are Induction and next month’s blood drive. Bring ideas for service projects and a photocopy of your report card.
Our next plenary meeting will be on 1 December. We will discuss the upcoming blood drive, Senior Gala, the canned food drive, and other service projects.
Be sure to maintain your GPA for the Fall 2014 semester ending in four weeks’ time in order to avoid an academic probation letter.
The blood drive is scheduled for 4 December. We need volunteers to donate and volunteers to help. If you can recruit donors in lunches this week, see Mr. Lewis in D430 for forms.
The first Monday of the month and the next meeting of the NHS is coming up. Meet in Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room at 3:00 PM. We will discuss Powder Puff, the Fall Blood Drive, a canned food drive for Caroline Social Services, an opportunity with the Caroline YMCA, and our peer tutoring program.
This year’s first plenary meeting will be held in Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room–E250–after school on Monday, 8 September. Let Mr. Lewis or Mrs. Tillapaugh know ahead if time if you cannot attend.
We need volunteers for the blood drive committee and organizers for Powder Puff to come forward at Monday’s meeting.
Welcome back for your final year of high school. I hope the year proves a happy capstone for your secondary education and a productive springboard for your undergraduate academic career.
