Mrs. Tillapaugh and Mr. Lewis extend hearty congratulations to new members inducted on Friday night. Welcome to the NHS. Returning members conducted the ceremony in exemplary fashion. To you–and to all who helped set up, clean up, and host–we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
Virginia Blood Services will be at the high school on 17 February for the semi-annual NHS blood drive. See Mrs. Tillapaugh for sign-up forms. Students under 18 need a parent’s signature to donate.
January’s regularly scheduled NHS meeting will be held on Monday, 11 January, in Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room, E-250, immediately after school. Be prepared to discuss induction and service projects.
The next NHS meeting will be after school on Monday, 5 October, in Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room, E250. On the agenda are Powder Puff, the next blood drive (11 November) and service projects brought in by members. Please pay your dues to Mrs. Tillapaugh if you have not done so already.
The next meeting of the NHS will take place at 3:00 PM on Monday, 14 September, in E-250, Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room. If you must be absent, please notify Mrs. Tillapaugh or Mr. Lewis ahead of the meeting in order to cut your service-hour penalty in half.
The guidance department needs NHS volunteers to help with freshman orientation from 10-12 and from 4-6 on August 6th. Please call Mrs. Pielocik at 633-9886 for more information. You can get 1/2 of your hours fro the year!
The final NHS meeting of the 2014-2015 school year will be held on Monday, 4 May, at 3:00PM in Mrs. Tillapaugh’s room. Officers for the coming year will be elected, so bring your speeches and supporters.
Senior dues and activity hours sheets are due by Tuesday, 5 May. Mrs. Tillapaugh and Mr. Lewis will give the names of seniors eligible for stoles on Wednesday. This list of names will still be subject to GPA requirements, so be sure your final GPA is not less than 3.5.
Juniors who anticipate working graduation will get info in due course. Keep in touch with Mr. Lewis if you expect to be and usher that on 15 May.
The next meeting of NHS will be held on April 13, the first school Monday of the month. All members, seniors and new inductees, should attend. On the agenda will be: first, a substitute induction ceremony for candidates who were away on school business on 19 March; second, officers for the coming year; third, service/school projects, including graduation in May.
Graduation seniors are advised that final GPAs below 3.5 will result in disqualification for NHS regalia. Be on the lookout for the due date for service hour sheets.
Inductees should meet in the library at 6:15. Current members–excluding ushers–should report to their duty stations at 6:30. Ushers should be in the gym lobby at 6:15.
March 2nd is the first school Monday of the month, so we meet in E-250 at 3:00. On the agenda, obviously, is the make-up date for induction.
